Camels in the Cathedral

During Advent the Catholic Community of the Cathedral of Our Lady of St Philip stephanies-camels-in-cathedralHoward were busy raising money to buy camels from CAFOD’s World Gift selection.

At £400 each they’re not cheap but the Cathedral community in their generosity have raised enough money to buy three, raising over £1,200.

The First Holy Communion Group carried up pictures of the camels during the Offertory in Mass last Sunday and were delighted to receive the thank you cards.

The camel that carries changes lives. They provide up to seven litres of milk per day for families to drink, help carry heavy loads, can breed to provide income and along with other animals are also a form of currency.

Our heartfelt thanks go to Stephanie, our Parish Volunteer, the children of the First Communion Group and the Cathedral Community for their efforts and generosity in support of our work. It really does change lives.
