We were delighted that a good troupe of supporters joined us for our retreat on Saturday the 5th of November here in Wonersh. Sarah Croft and Chloe Sideserf led the retreat and helped us reflect on Pope Francis’ call to be “a witness of mercy” in our families, communities and in our world. We dwelt on the story of the Prodigal Son and the mercy that the Father has for both his sons.
We also received some teaching on Pope Francis’ teaching in documents on Care for our Common Home (Laudato Si’), the Joy of Love (Amoris Laetitia) and the Year of Mercy and had a good chance to reflect silence and share thoughts with each other, particularly around how we might define ‘mercy’..
The shared lunch was delightful and our thanks go to those who brought their fare to share.
After all this we had some to time to share about how we might take part in an act of mercy and finished the day with a closing liturgy.
Our thanks go to Sarah and Chloe for their time spent with us and for all those who joined us for the day.
There are still more retreats happening elsewhere in the country, information on which can be found on our Retreats pages. Particular mention goes to the Portsmouth Diocesan retreat on the 3rd of December.
