Many thanks to students from the University of Brighton who are gathering together every Wednesday throughout Lent to share a soup lunch and raise money for CAFOD’s Lent appeal. Sr Blanaid organised the weekly soup lunches at the Catholic chaplaincy to make students aware of the plight of many girls in Uganda who have to spend hours collecting water which means they miss out on going to school.
However this Lent CAFOD hopes to raise £3.5 million to support communities in Uganda, DRC and Zimbabwe by working with partners to provide a near by source of clean water so that girls can continue their education.
