Fr Con celebrated mass at 12 noon and then parishioners came in to the hall for a soup lunch provided by volunteers. We prayed the fast day prayer together as the grace before meals and remembered those in our world who struggle to get clean water as well as food. I had brought along a display of the Lost Family Portraits from the CAFOD website which showed photographs of refugees from Syria living in camps in the Lebanon, and I shared how CAFOD was supporting these families.
Many thanks for the delicious soup which was full of healthy vegetables and very warming on such a cold day, and the chance to chat to parishioners about the many ways that they support CAFOD. Jo Lewry
Please try to make some time today to say the Lent Fast Day prayer in solidarity with our brothers and sisters around the world.
