Sacred Heart parish in Cobham held a race night to raise funds for this Lent’s Appeal. The new hall was packed with ninety-three parishioners who enthusiastically bet on the races, and then enjoyed a fish and chip supper. Over £1400 was raised on the night which is a fantastic effort. Thank you to Jackie and Brian Trewby for organising the event and to all those who came along. A great start to the CAFOD Lent appeal which is hoping to raise £3.5 million to provide people living in Uganda, Democratic Republic of Congo and Zimbabwe access to a nearby supply of clean water. This will help many more girls, who used to spend most of their day collecting water, continue with their education. So please tell us about your fund-raising events so that we can advertise them on the blog, and inspire others.
