Thursday, 7th Jun, 7 – 8PM Geoff O’Donoghue, our Director of Operations, shares our ambition of ‘no one beyond reach’ through the stories of those whose lives have been touched by the compassion of the Catholic community by CAFOD. 16th June 2pm – Volunteer Celebration Mass for the South East of England. This will take place close to our diocese at Our Lady, Help of Christians Parish in delightful Farnborough. We will serve refreshments after and hear from Tania Doulton from our Latin America Team then hopefully go on a lovely (and not too long) walk for our Share the Journey campaign after.
23rd June – Worthing: St Mary of the Angels parish is starting their Share the Journey walk at their stall by Worthing Pier at 11am on Saturday 23 June where you can choose one of three walks along the prom of varying lengths, each returning to the start. There you can sign a ‘distance card’ to confirm the miles contributed, and another calling on our government to work for a positive Global Agreement in Sept. The Walks are 1, 2 and 4 miles long – choose your distance.
23rd June – Refugee Week Vigil at Worth Abbey. The parish will be reflecting on the plight of refugees. Includes speakers, Mass and reflection in the Lady Chapel.
18th – 24th June – Share the Journey week of action. Get those walking boots on!
23rd – 24th June – Share the Journey Walk across the Weybridge Deanery.
Groups of CAFOD supporters and volunteers will be walking from church to church across the Weybridge Deanery for our Share the Journey campaign. What promises to be a wonderful occasion of people coming together from various parishes is all in solidarity with refugees.
The walk will start in Thames Ditton on the 23rd of June and pass through Walton-On-Thames, then on Sunday the 24th will head to Weybridge, Chertsey, Egham Hythe, Englefield Green before finishing in Royal Holloway. Refreshments will be served at each stage and a simple prayer will launch and end the walk in each Church. More info on the Weybridge Walk Blog. Everyone is welcome.
23rd June – The St Pius, Guildford, Men’s Walking Group, will be walking in Cirencester and will be doing it as a Share the Journey Walk in solidarity with Refugees and Migrants.
Sunday 24th June – Share the Journey Walk organised by St Clements Parish, Ewell, starting in Nonesuch Park at 2pm. This should be a delightful occasion and all are welcome to the walk and the shared lunch picnic afterwards.
Thursday June 28th in St. Leonard’s-on-Sea – An Ecumenical Share the Journey Walk. Click the above link for more details, walk starts at 9:15am and finishes at approximately 1:15 but you can join in on one or more of the 5 stages. All will be welcome. Get in touch if you’d like more information.
Sunday 8th July – Share the Journey Walk organised by St. Edmund King and Martyr, Godalming, with St. Joseph’s Milford. The walk will start and finish at St Joseph’s Milford, starting at 2 30pm ending with tea and cakes at 3:15pm. All are welcome. Get in touch with the CAFOD Volunteer Centre for more information.
Saturday 15th September – Share the Journey Walk in Redhill, Merstham and Reigate. Shortish walks between the churches make this a lovely walk that most people should be able to join in on. More details to follow.
