Change the World: Roger Morton, local Parishioner and campaigner, visits Ethiopia and tells us of his experience

Roger Morton visited Ethiopia with Trocaire to visit a CAFOD & Trocaire funded project.

On the 24th of February Roger launched Fairtrade Fortnight by speaking of his experiences. He was aided and abetted by Martin Brown who spoke about Fairtrade and CAFOD’s strong link with the Fairtrade Foundation (we were one of the six organisations which worked to establish it).The evening included refreshments (some fairtrade wine and juice) and a little prayer.

We were delighted to be  able to use the school hall of St Cuthbert Mayne Catholic School, Cranleigh and thank Head, Mrs Loveder, for her hospitality.Roger’s talk about Ethiopia was fascinating and highlighted how water is such a important thing and how the women have to do a lot of carrying and fetching. We are glad to be working with Trocaire and SCIAF in the area. More information about how we work in Ethiopia can be found here

Thanks to Roger for his great talk and for all who shared the evening with us.
